Beacon Hill High School is a Business and Enterprise School. As with all specialist colleges the full National Curriculum is offered, however the Business and Enterprise focus means that work in all subjects will increasingly have a business influence seeking to enhance and develop entrepreneurial skills. This has particular relevance in the regeneration plans for Blackpool.
The specific aims of Beacon Hill specialist school status are;
- To raise attainment in specialist subjects.
- To strengthen and develop teaching and learning strategies.
- To extend vocational choices and enrichment including HE, sponsors, business etc.
- To develop a specialist Business and Enterprise identity.
- To collaborate with other schools to enhance teaching and learning.
- To provide high quality learning opportunities for the wider community including local business.
Under the BSF programme the Authority have planned for a 100% re-build at Beacon Hill. Following extensive consultation with staff, Governors, parents and the community, Beacon Hill and Bispham High School will strategically re-align and Beacon will offer provision for pupils aged 3 – 14. At the age of 14 pupils will move to the nearby Bispham High facility to continue their education.
