The Benefits

• An extended school which is truly at the heart of the community it serves, delivering the quality education every one of our pupils and parents deserve. Wherever possible, schools and other agencies will be located on the same site to improve the dove tailing of provision and reduce the barriers to providing a joined up children’s service.

• Schools of the future are not just about what goes on in the classroom between 8.30 and 16.30. They will welcome the community for a range of activities outside normal schools hours, potentially up to seven days a week.

• A well designed and maintained modern building which is fit for purpose and sympathetic to its environment.

• Some school buildings will be replaced with exciting modern designs which will enhance the areas around them and become landmarks in their communities.

• It is hoped that many schools will share their sites with others to provide a hub for local services.
